Relocation services include a range of internal business processes that are engaged to transfer employees, their families, and/or entire departments of a business to a new work location. These can include domestic residential services where an employee moves within a country or state as well as international relocation services which include planning for diplomats, managers etc. working abroad. The processes involved are usually administered by human resources specialists within a corporation and outsourced to different types of service providers. Relocation services are not synonymous with moving/relocation companies as not all of these companies offer the full range of relocation services.
Relocation services include: arranging necessary documents, finding a home, storage, temporary accommodation, tax advice, as well as information about schools, health care, childcare, language classes, and more. Some relocation experts specialize in offering a wide range of helpful tips, links, and one-on-one support for aspects of daily living such as public transport, recycling, shopping, and banking. Information is also sometimes provided on the local customs, traditions, food and wine, and language or dialect.
